Pound tar sig an uppgiften att "critically recover some of the theology underpinning Zizeks work".
"The trouble with this [Zizeks] "political theology" is that it clings to the underlying assumption that there exists a realm of pure nature, i.e., a realm that is void of any supernatural; so any subsequent appeal to Christianity is done so only by refusing already the fundamental Christian claim that man is ordered towards the supernatural, that man has a natural desire for the supernatural. Leaving the supernatural behind does not do away with the need for theology; on the contrary, as Zizek´s work highlights, it leads inevitably to a theology, only one of utter abandonement, a bastard theology without a Father." - Det tycks som att James Dunn skulle instämma i ovanstående citat: "Theology begins with an unwillingness to believe that the reality of human beings and human society can be fully explained solely in material terms."
